Great job on the "how to
make a sandwich" info graphic.
Here are some of them...
Homework to do:
1. Pick a topic on a subject that you really like, you are going to create an info graphic on that topic.
Definition: Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system's ability to see patterns and trends.
Or as shown with legos:
2. In your sketchbook, think of a way to break down your topic using as many icons/simplified drawings that represent the background or supporting information regarding your topic.
(See samples below)
3. Using pencil only, arrange the icons around your main topic. Use as few words as possible. (See example below)
4. Once you have sketched your icons use a fine line marker or black ball point pen and trace. Do not shade or add color. Next Saturday we will import your drawings into illustrator and add color.
(Here is a quick video about the basics of color.)
5. Read Chapter 2 of the class text book
it covers color and the basics of how to arrange objects in the picture plane.
(Here is a quick video about the basics of organization)
6. View the last video on the class blog by Lynda Barry(Click video tab on main blog page to find it.) .
We will talk about her video at the end of the next class.
Have a great week!
